ABR is a test which makes use of computer technology and electrical signals generated by the body to assist in the evaluation of the hearing mechanism and nerve pathways leading to the brain. With ABR it is possible to assess the hearing of many patient who were previously considered to be untestable.

Assistive Listening Devices are available for demonstration as well as purchase and may be used with hearing aids and without hearing aids. A full line of alerting devices and alarm clocks for the hearing impaired are available. Television, radio, and theatre systems such as wireless infrared amplifiers are being used by many, even with normal hearing ability. Telephone amplifiers make talking on the telephone much more enjoyable and are now available for portable phones and cellular phones.

Children's hearing acuity is evaluated comprehensively to determine accurate hearing thresholds. Children of all ages can have their hearing tested. The environment is pleasant and tailor made for them. Toys and games are usually played during the administration of the tests. Newborns and infants can be evaluated through a thorough hearing screening as well as a comprehensive battery of tests.

A basic hearing evaluation consists of a series of tests to determine the sensitivity of hearing for a wide range of frequencies or tones and for speech. The tests are conducted in spacious sound treated rooms designed to reduce background noise.

Electronystagmography or ENG as is commonly known is an evaluation of the part of the inner ear associated with the balance mechanism. Prior to the test, the patient is given an instructional sheet, as parts of this test may be affected by alcohol and/or medications.

Candidacy for cochlear implants can be discussed and appropriate referrals made to otoneurologists.

Specialty Earplugs - We offer custom earplugs for cell phone use. A mandatory state law will be put into effect this year requiring all drivers to refrain from cell phone use while driving, with the exception of hands-free devices. Custom earplugs in which your cell phone earbud or headset go into, allow for this and are much more comfortable to wear.

Specialty Earplugs - We offer custom earplugs for musicians, hunters, race car fans, and anyone else who is exposed to noise either recreationally or occupationally.

Specialty Earplugs - We offer custom earplugs for swimmers or those who must keep water out of their ears. Beautiful vibrant colors as well as clear swim plugs can be manufactured.

Hearing aids can be cleaned and checked at any time. No appointment is usually necessary unless adjustments to the hearing aids, including programming are requested.

No physician referral is needed, however, medical clearance for a hearing aid is recommended. The evaluation consists of a review of medical history, video otoscopic examination of the ears, and a hearing test. If a hearing loss is diagnosed, a review of appropriate treatment options is discussed including hearing aid candidacy, types and styles. A recommendation will be made following the hearing aid evaluation.

Extended warranties can be purchased through the office from the hearing aid manufacturer.

Hearing Aids - We offer a wide selection of hearing aids, including digital and digitally programmable, from a variety of manufacturers. We will work with you to find the best solution for your hearing healthcare needs within your budget.

Repair All Makes - We can get your hearing aid repaired quickly at a reasonable cost and give you a loaner hearing aid to use until yours comes back.

We clean and check your hearing aids, replace components such as tubing, battery doors, wax guards, ear hooks, filters, screens, and other items. When a hearing aid cannot be repaired in the office, we will send it to the manufacturer for you and provide you a loaner hearing aid while yours is being repaired. All manufacturer repairs come with at least a 6 month warranty.

Candidacy for middle ear implants can be discussed and appropriate referrals to surgeons made.

OAE's are recorded from individual's ears using sophisticated computer technology in a span of 3-4 minutes, allowing audiologists to obtain an objective measure of hearing

Tinnitus is a subjective experience of hearing a sound or noise in the ears or head, when there is no physical sound present. The tinnitus evaluation consists of an audiological evaluation and specialized tinnitus matching techniques which identifies the pitch and loudness of the tinnitus, to aid in the counseling and rehabilitation.

An importance component in the diagnostic battery of tests performed by our office to assist in determining the condition of the outer and middle ears. Is very helpful in ruling out otitis media and other middle ear pathologies.
